MAKING SESSION | 1pm - 3pm
Artists of all ages and skill levels are invited to create and trade miniature works of art!
Potluck style! Bring supplies to use and share with others, we will also have supplies on site to use.
SUPPLIES SUGGESTIONS
Please refer to the following guidelines when creating your ATCs:
Cards must be original works, not photocopies
Dimensions are 2.5 x 3.5 inches (64 mm × 89 mm), the same size as a hockey or baseball card
Cards are intended to be traded, not bought or sold
Experiment with painting, collage, mixed media, photography, and other 2-dimensional formats
Sign your name as you would any artwork
Artists are encouraged to add their contact information to the back of their ATCs
TRADING SESSION | 3pm - 4pm
Open to all! You don’t need to come to the making session to join our in-person trade! It’s a great way to meet folks in the artist community and have some fun. Trades are free, 1:1.
HISTORY
Artist Trading Cards have grown in popularity from their invention in 1997 by Swiss artist M. Vänçi Stirnemann to a worldwide movement. The Campbell River Art Gallery was the first location in British Columbia to host an ATC event in 1999 and is proud to continue the tradition of bringing artists together. The Campbell River Art Gallery is wheelchair accessible and is accessed by a two main doors to the Centennial Building, with an accessible parking space at the rear of the building. There are two gender inclusive washrooms and accessible washrooms located inside for workshop/ event participants.
